York Heritage Weekend

  • Avon Terrace York, WA, 6302 Australia (map)

Long known for its heritage buildings, York will showcase the stories from our past and the skills needed to preserve our future through displays, demonstrations and talks held in the Town Hall and throughout the town over an event-packed weekend.

You are invited to take a step back in time when you visit the York Heritage Weekend 22-23 April 2023.

Immerse yourself in all the historic town has to offer!

Hear stories of the history of bees and honey production coming to York, about colonial furniture in WA, Heritage Gardens, our magnificent Town Hall, our Historic clocks and much more.

Fancy a ride in a vintage motor vehicle or perhaps two wheels are more your style. Visit the Historical Cycling Club team & discover the history of cycling in York and then watch the amazing penny farthings cruise Avon Terrace each day. The rides will be at 10am both days with an extra ride at 2pm on Saturday.

Perhaps ‘Plein air Painting’ appeals? Check out the residency Museum and their beautiful bush garden.

Got some young folk you need to keep occupied? Join in traditional games of skittles, hopscotch and many more, no screens allowed! Pick up the family Quiz from the visitor centre and a souvenir printed programme so you don’t miss a thing!

Gather the team and have an exciting and informative day out in York, WA.
